In the original Kinsey Report examines, the X category designated the group who said no socio-sexual contacts or reactions in their interviews. Ratings 1–5 are for those who report differing levels of interest or sexual activity with either sex. Those at “6” report only homosexual / same-sex behaviour or fascination. People at “0” report exclusively heterosexual/opposite sex behaviour or attraction. X | No socio-sexual contacts or reactions.5 | Predominantly homosexual, only incidentally heterosexual.4 | Predominantly homosexual, but other than incidentally heterosexual.3 | Equally heterosexual and homosexual.2 | Predominantly heterosexual, but additional than incidentally homosexual.1 | Predominantly heterosexual, at most incidentally homosexual. It spans from 0 to 6, with an additional type of “X.” Instead of allocating people to three categories-heterosexual, bisexual, and homosexual-the team used a seven-point scale. The research appears that sexual behaviour, thoughts, and feelings towards the equivalent or opposite sex were not generally consistent across time. The Kinsey team interviewed thousands of individuals about their sexual histories. Does the Kinsey Scale Have Some Limitations?
